Located on the third floor of a building in the city center from middle 20th century Rovaniemi, The apartment’s original layout – hallway, living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and a bathroom with sauna – was abolished by the host’s reinterpretation of the floorplan. Today, half the space is occupied by an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, while the remaining areas have been distributed across the sleeping quarter (2 bedrooms), wardrobe, laundry room, a balcony, bathroom and a sauna.

The House emboldens the space with design in Scandinavian countries where the lack of natural light in winter is compensated by the skillful use of dark and white tones and bold pieces of classic furniture with the city view under the northern lights. The interior design is accomplished with Finnish design in mind, with a lot of high quality furniture and lighting designed by people like Alvar Aalto.
