The unique shape of the house is inspired by classic Khmer architecture. Respecting proportions and consistent structure, creating a beautiful private micro cosmos. The center of Athakon is of an octagonal shape and is the major meeting place of the house. It represents the mountain Meru. Similar to classic temples, the entrance of the house is pointed to the east, where the sun rises. The Athakon house respects the traditional Cambodian style of building, using natural materials like sandstone floors, large wooden pillars and terra cotta tiles.

Athakon House ensures a luxury setting and its team provides quality services to ensure the highest comfort. Guaranteeing a complete experience while visiting the sublime sites of Angkor Wat, the city of Siem Reap and its surroundings. 
The seven bedroom private villa is build over two floors. And has bridges and steps connecting the lobbies with four central corner houses. Each of these corner houses contain large comfortable bedrooms on every floor.
This presents every bedroom with maximum privacy and beautiful views to the garden.

The dining room is located on the top floor one can sense a remarkable spacious feeling with 360 degrees view all around the landscaped tropical garden.
Spectacular sunsets can be experienced from this high lifted lounge. The dining area connects directly to the kitchen located on the same floor.

At the raised ground level, is where the 'play area' is with a pool table and a television for streaming. The lobby is surrounded by four large pounds, filled with streaming water, plants and waterlilies.

The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden with a diversity and richness one can expect in a tropical setting. Impressive stone sculptures comprise of a monumental image of king Jayavarman VII, who overlooks the large pool and pool house, both positioned at the west/sunset side of the property.
The property's pool is attended to weekday for cleaning and to measure the quality of its water.

The Athakon House hosts seven en-suite bedrooms.
On the ground floor level there are two rooms with a large bed and two rooms with each two separate beds.
On the first floor we have the kitchen connecting to the dining and lounge area. Together with three rooms with each a large bed. Each bedroom is differently and originally furnished by furniture that was collected over the years in the country.

The Athakon House comes fully staffed from housekeeping to security. A personal chef can be hired, butlers are stand-by. You are also assigned a personal English speaking concierge that will assist you throughout your stay.
